Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo You are met on arrival and travel to your hotel by public transport. Once you have checked in, the evening is free to take in the skyline. You sleep in Tokyo tonight.
Day 2: Tokyo with a Guide Spend the day with a guide, moving around Tokyo by public transport. Begin at the Sumida Hokusai Museum, then walk into Meiji Shrine's forest, where 120,000 trees were donated from across Japan. Harajuku and Omotesando follow, then the observation deck at the Tokyo Government Building and the busy entertainment streets of Shinjuku. Breakfast is included, and you return to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Kamakura by Local Train Meet your guide and ride a local train to Kamakura, a coastal city south of Tokyo. Start at Kotokuin, whose grounds hold Japan's second tallest bronze Buddha, and at Hase Temple. Stroll Komachi Street for its shops and restaurants, then finish at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, the city's most important shrine. Public transport takes you back to Tokyo, and breakfast is included.
Day 4: A Slow Goodbye to Tokyo Breakfast is included, and the day is yours until it is time to leave. Use it for a last walk through the neighbourhood. Public transport then takes you to the airport for your onward flight.
