Nasi goreng steam rises from a stall by Ubud Market, and somewhere past the stalls a gamelan starts up. This 7-day Bali tour spends three nights in Ubud, among rice terraces and wood-carving villages, then moves to Sanur for three more by the sea. A Travel Director and fellow travellers join you from the first evening.
It suits couples, friends and solo travellers wanting both culture and beach in one week, without planning each day themselves. Free days in both Ubud and Sanur leave room for an optional cooking class, a yoga session, or a boat out to Nusa Lembongan. Temple visits run through the trip, closing with Tanah Lot and a seafood dinner on Jimbaran beach under a Kecak dance. Among Bali holiday packages, this one balances guided sightseeing with real time to slow down.
Day 1: Arrival in Ubud
You land in Bali and are taken to your hotel in Ubud, set among terraced rice paddies on the edge of town. Take the afternoon slowly: unpack, walk the nearby lanes, let the heat and the quiet sink in. In the evening you meet your Travel Director and the rest of the group, then share dinner together as the trip gets its first proper introduction.
Tip: Ubud's streets are uneven and often without footpaths, so pack shoes you can walk in after dark.
Meals: Dinner
Day 2: Ubud Sightseeing
Breakfast first, then a morning at Mas Village for a traditional wood-carving workshop, where generations of carvers have worked the same timber by hand. From there you move to Tegallalang, where rice terraces step down the hillside in long green curves, one of the most photographed views in Bali. Lunch is served with a view of a sacred volcano in the distance, a different kind of dining room. The afternoon takes you to Puri Saren Agung, the former royal residence in Ubud, before the day closes at Ubud Market, where stalls sell local art, textiles and handicrafts.
Tip: Bargaining is expected at Ubud Market. Start low and settle somewhere in the middle.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3: A Free Day in Ubud
After breakfast, the day is yours. The Monkey Forest is a short walk or drive away, home to more than 700 long-tailed macaques moving freely among temple ruins. If you'd rather spend the day differently, an optional cooking class teaches traditional Balinese dishes from market to table, and an optional yoga session at a studio in central Ubud suits every level, both at an extra cost.
Tip: Keep sunglasses, loose items and food out of sight at the Monkey Forest. The macaques are quick and used to visitors.
Meals: Breakfast
Day 4: Ubud to Sanur
Today moves through three temples before the coast. Ulun Danu sits on small islands in Lake Bratan, dedicated to the Goddess of the Waters and often wrapped in mist. Taman Ayun in Mengwi, built in 1634, is surrounded by a wide moat and a series of tiered shrines. The day's last stop is Tanah Lot, perched on a rock battered by waves since the 16th century and one of Bali's most recognised sights. Lunch is included along the way, and the day ends in Sanur, on the coast.
Tip: Tanah Lot gets crowded around sunset. If photos matter more to you than the light, an earlier visit is quieter.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 5: Sanur, Uluwatu and Jimbaran
The morning is open: swim, walk the beach, or take an optional vintage VW Kombi tour through Denpasar, stopping at a traditional market and the Museum of Bali, at an extra cost. In the afternoon you head to Uluwatu, where the Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple sits high above the sea on a limestone cliff. As evening falls, a Kecak dance performance leads into a seafood dinner served on Jimbaran beach, with the meal timed around sunset.
Tip: The Jimbaran dinner is seated outdoors on the sand. A light layer is worth having once the sun goes down. Book this dinner just before sunset.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 6: A Free Day in Sanur
Breakfast, then the day is open again. Choose a half-day exploring local market life and a trek through rice fields lined with rivers, or spend the morning on Sanur's beach instead. In the afternoon, two optional add-ons are available: a catamaran crossing to Nusa Lembongan for snorkelling among coral reefs, or an evening dinner at a Sanur beachfront restaurant, both at an extra cost.
Tip: If you're set on the Nusa Lembongan catamaran, book it the day before. Spots fill fastest in the morning.
Meals: Breakfast
Day 7: Departure from Bali
Breakfast closes out the week before your transfer to the airport. There's time for one last coffee or a slow walk if your flight allows it.
Meals: Breakfast
